Reviews for this week:
Gulliver's Travels (4/5)
Starring: Jack Black, Jason Segel, Amanda Peet, Emily Blunt, Billy Connolly, & Chris O'Dowd.
"Travel writer Lemuel Gulliver takes an assignment in Bermuda, but ends up on the island of Liliput, where he towers over its tiny citizens."
It's a new twist on the classic tale with Jack Black. Completely ridiculous, but I love Mr. Black. He's outrageous and wacky. We share a lot of similarities, especially quoting music into everyday conversation. War, what is it good for?
How Do You Know (4/5)
Starring: Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson, Paul Rudd, and Jack Nicholson.
"After being cut from the USA softball team and feeling a bit past her prime, Lisa finds herself evaluating her life and in the middle of a love triangle, as a corporate guy in crisis competes with her current, baseball-playing beau."
I was really hoping to dislike this movie so I could delete it, but it won my heart over. I love me some beautiful Reese and she plays a fairly strong character in this movie. I think what ended up making me really enjoying this movie, is that I could relate to Paul Rudd...oh joy.
Unstoppable (4/5)
Starring: Denzel Washington & Chris Pine.
"With an unmanned, half-mile-long freight train barreling toward a city, a veteran engineer and a young conductor race against the clock to prevent a catastrophe."
I should probably have appreciated this movie more, knowing it was based on a true story. It was a good movie, but nothing special (for me). If you like intense Drama/Action/Thriller movies, then you'll probably enjoy this movie.
The Rebound (?/5)
Starring: Catherine Zeta-Jones & Justin Bartha.
"In New York City, a single mom captivates her new neighbor, a much younger man."
This movie had SOOO much potential, but struggled in a lot of parts. I am ridiculously similar to Justin Bartha's character. It felt a little rushed, until the end. For me, the last 15 minutes of the movie was amazing. I suggest you watch it, because I need to hear some other opinions on this.
