Today is Easter Monday and when you are a government employee, you get to have this day off. Hello! Don't mind if I do, indeed!
I tried sleeping in...made it to 8:30, which is awesome for me! Got up, made a pot of tea and watched a movie. Then I got my ass in gear, took my new pruning shears and started to attack my bush...rose bush dirty minds. I even got some other yard work done as well. Apparently some other rotten trees decided to fall down (just little guys though). So I made a nice bundle of branches and placed them beside the fire pit for a future bonfire.
My mom decided to show up for an afternoon visit (another government employee). She brought me some random house treats; garbage bags ( enough that will last me a couple years. I've owned the placed since June and have only went through 20 garbage bags), solar lights, window screening and the tool to put them in. I love my Mom because she is as random and weirdly thoughtful as I am.
A couple hours later...
Another visitor. NORM! The new roommate. His parents also popped over to see the new digs and meet his new roommate. We all seemed to get along quite nicely, which is grand.
As time went on...
Mom left...
Norm's parent left...
Norm left...
Which forced me to finish my little bit of yard work, some laundry and a re-org of my bedroom. It looks fantastic. It's funny how moving the room around, re-organizing where you put clothes, or throw dirty laundry can make you feel so good about a room.
After all was said and done with the chores I through on the boob-tube. I try not to watch TV, but apparently I had some free time this weekend and was slightly obsessed with the Food Network. Which is my favourite "show" anyways and I kind of got hooked on this show called Top Chef Canada...wow. I could not handle being on a show like that. I found out that it plays at 9:00 on Mondays...well fancy that, it's Monday! I am staying up to watch it. OY! I hate wanting to watch TV...makes me feel so dirty.
Anyways, I figured I should write this up before it comes on and also finish packing my bags for tomorrow night. I will be staying in town for a friend's going away party.
Hope you all had a great day! Wish me luck on the new job tomorrow!
