Reviews for this week:
Skulls (4/5)
Starring: Joshua Jackson & Paul Walker.
"A college senior from a working class background joins a secret elitist college fraternity organization called 'The Skulls'".
Great story line. I forgot how good this movie was. Unfortunately, I really don't like Joshua Jackson, so that's probably what brought down my rating.
The Fisher King (5/5)
Starring: Robin Williams & Jeff Bridges.
"A former radio DJ, suicidally despondent because of a terrible mistake he made, finds redemption in helping a deranged homeless man who was an unwitting victim of that mistake."
Fantastic movie. I completely forgot about this movie until my friend Tracy reminded me of it (Thank you!). There are so many quotes from this movie, but I'll leave you with this:
"Ya know boys, there's three things in this world that you need:
respect for all kinds of life
a nice bowel movement on a regular basis
and a navy blazer"
How true! Preach!
Black Swan (4.5/5)
Starring: Natalie Portman.
" A ballet dancer wins the lead in "Swan Lake" and is perfect for the role of the delicate White Swan - Princess Odette - but slowly loses her mind as she becomes more and more like Odile, the Black Swan."
Okay, it was really well done and I can appreciate it, but it wasnt really my type of movie. I was captivated enough to not turn it off, but would I have watched it if it didnt get all the Oscar hype....maybe not. Either way, I suggest watching it, especially if you are into the arts. I may have been a little biased on this though, I was startled after the movie, when I found a black feather in my bathroom sink...I didnt like that....
Proof.
Nine Miles Down (?/5)
Starring: Adrian Paul.
"A security expert is sent to a remote scientific camp to investigate strange things that are happening."
Not the greatest of acting, but I think I really liked this movie. Especially the way it ended, but Im torn. I may have hated it as well. I will watch it again and I ask you, what do you think?
The Family Man (4/5)
Starring: Nicolas Cage & Téa Leoni .
"A fast-lane investment broker, offered the opportunity to see how the other half lives, wakes up to find that his sports car and girlfriend have become a mini-van and wife."
I love Téa, I love the little girl in this, but Nic Cage...still weirds me out! Great movie, and a nice twist to your classic Christmas movie. I know, I shouldn't be watching Christmas movies, but I forgot that this was a Christmas movie.
