ignorance is bliss...

...sometimes.

Seriously. I know there is a lot that goes on in this world, but this whole tsunami thing in Japan is really sad and scary. I just heard that a nuclear power plant in Fukushima has reached 1000 times the normal level of radiation. This is history in the making. I try not to believe in any of this 2012 mumbo jumbo, but when so many intense things have been going within the past 10 years, its hard not too sometimes. Has anyone else heard about the "supermoon" coming into play on March 19th, that could cause a gravitational pull that would create natural calamities like floods? It slightly freaks me out as well. And then when I start thinking of things of this nature, I start feeling guilty that I'm not thinking about things that hit closer to home, like homelessness, missing children, victims of abuse, etc...

I know I can't physically help with Japan, but it doesn't mean my heart doesn't want to. Luckily, with the help of technology, I feel like my faith in humanity strengthens during times like these. Almost everyone in the twitter world has re-tweeted information about how you can donate to help with the relief. Celebrities are also helping where they can. Even though I am on a budget, knowing that donating even something as little as $10 of my own money relieves some of the pressure off my chest.

I leave you with Reinhold Niebuhrs quote that I always try to keep in mind: "Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference."

Sending my love, be well.
