reviews-day tuesday.

Reviews this week!

Life in a Day (5/5)
Starring: Everyone.
This movie was so different. I talked about this film last week; they did a live broadcast over YouTube from the Sundance Film Festival in Utah. It is such a neat idea. I love the concept. In the Q&A after the film, they talked about how it would be coming to theatres July 24, 2011! So excited to see it again.

Splice (3/5)
Starring: Adrien Brody & Sarah Polley.
Everyone who has seen this (that I have spoken to) has said it was a bad movie. I still had a little faith in it.
It actually started off really good, and maybe if I was more of a Sci-Fi fan, I would have enjoyed it, but near the end it got way too weird for me.

Pirates of Penzance (5/5)
Starring: Kevin Kline, Angela Lansbury, Rex Smith, and Linda Ronstadt.
If you like musicals and comedies, watch this! I love this movie!
Especially "I am a very model of a modern major general", props to be able to sing that quickly!
And who wouldnt want to see Angela Lansbury all decked out in Pirate gear!

The Social Network (5/5)
Starring: Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Armie Hammer, and Justin Timberlake.
I was really hoping to dread this movie, but it was incredible! Acting was awesome, writing was witty, directing was delightful. If I had to say one bad thing, it would be that it is a full two hours.
However, now that I know what to expect, I'm sure I will be sad when it is over.

Ferngully: The Last Rainforest (5/5)

Starring: Tim Curry, Samantha Mathis, Grace Zabriskie, Christian Slater, Robin Williams, Cheech Marin, Tommy Chong, & Tone Loc.
This is a childhood classic for me, so I may be a little biased.
Plus, I love that Robin Williams does a little rap.
The message that is being portrayed is universal. Unfortunately, nearly 20 years later, the message is only sauntering along. Here's hoping that someday we clue in.
The film is dedicated to: "Our Children and Our Childrens' Children."
