check it.

It's been a while since I've talked about any books that I've read recently. So I figured its about time, unfortunately I only have two books to report on. Life has been busy and I hate that that is an excuse for not reading. Today, I am giving myself an hour to read this morning, before I meet with my "Little" and my cousins. My new book I am reading is much better (so far) than the last two I read! haha

My Side of the Mountain -- Jean Craighead George
So my roommate has been wanting me to read this book for about 3 years now. I just kept putting it enough until I was in the mood. As you can tell from the front (Yes, I judge a book by it's cover), it looks childish, and it is. Its the story of a teenage boy running away to live in the woods. It feels unrealistic, but that is also the point of the book, which is slightly inspiring. The main reason my roommate thought I would love it, is when I lived in the forest for the summer, I gave all the animals names, like the boy does in the book. If you have any pre-teen/teenagers out there, they'd probably love this book! Who knows, maybe you would too!
(Also, this is a trilogy! I should probably read the other two!)

Good Evening, Central Laundromat -- Jason Heroux
This one was recommended by my Mom. She knows how much I love local things, and I guess books are no exceptions. This is from a local writer, who actually works in the same office as I do!
First off, if I were passing by this book, I would not pick it up, AT ALL. Look at that cover! It looks like an instruction manual, more then a cover for a book. As for the story, it was okay. Not completely my cup of tea. It had a very twilight zone feel to it. And lastly, the conversations in the book were a bit of a struggle. I like the flow of conversations in a book, rather then "he said", "she said", "he said", "she said" constantly throughout.

Anyways, that's all I have to report on right now. Have any suggestions for me to add to my pile of books to read?
