Seriously...so lame. I have a blog and never update or maintain it! Brutal! This is the year I will commit to trying harder, with everything. I tend to only put 50% into things for me. On the other hand if its for someone else, I will put 110% into it. I am going to try to focus on me this year. I don't think its as selfish as it sounds either. How can one help others if they cant truly help or be there for themselves. So 2011 is my year to work on me.
So on that note, today is my first entry back and I am going to commit to updating once a week. If I do more, then great, but I am only promising one entry a week for me. I think I should reflect back on my previous post to update as well.
House is still amazing and I am loving every moment I am there. Sometimes too much. Is it sad that I would rather stay in, then go out? I think its just one of those things, when you start to get older, you enjoy the comforts of home. Then again, if I had a partner and there was another income, then maybe I could afford to go out a little more often. Owning a home on your own is amazing, fulfilling, but tiring and expensive. I shouldn't complain too much on funds, because I am very grateful for my roommate! If I didn't have her, I'm sure I would have a completely different attitude! haha
Next! My friends Brantica. They are no longer house guests. They were with me for a few months and it was awesome having so many people in one house to hang with, chat with, and feed. I LOVE cooking, so I loved getting to cook so many big delicious meals. Also, I don't know if I said before, but they got married in September and the wedding was amazing! I'm not the hugest fan of weddings anymore, because I think the idea of them are straying too far from what they are supposed to represent, but if I were to get married, I can say that Brantica's would be something I'd like. Simple, yet detailed. It was gorgeous! Thanks to the Cataraqui Conservation Area for having such an amazing venue.
Next! Volunteer Job. I applied for a volunteer position down at Martha's Table. I enjoyed my experience there, though it was short-lived. I decided to put focus back on my recycled clothing drive. I have been collecting items from friends, family, and anyone who hears about my drop off. Anyone is welcome to take what they wish, as long as they are willing to donate sometime. Once everything is organized, I plan on cataloguing the items, to send a list to each of the local charities in Kingston to see what items they may want. I have been giving to many charities in Kingston for the past four or five years. I'm glad to know that I do my best to help as many people as I can. On another volunteer note, if all goes well, I picked up a new volunteer position with the Big Brothers Foundation of Kingston. I've been to my interview, training, and meetings. Everything has went smoothly and I meet with the Mother of a 10-year old boy next week.
Next! Part-time job....has not happened. I would like to give the lame excuse that I just don't have the time, but I know if I tried hard enough, i could find the time. Maybe i will come across something. However, I did apply for a new job, it is 3 levels higher then where I am right now, so that would be brilliant. Also, I am looking to get another roommate, i think that would help with things. Any takers out there? :)
Anyways, there are my updates. Life is good and I wish you well. See you next week or sooner. Here's hoping that I don't fall into the same routine of being lame :P
