The Dark Crystal (3.5/5)
Starring: Henson Muppet's!!
"On another planet in the distant past, a Gelfling embarks on a quest to find the missing shard of a magical crystal, and so restore order to his world."
When I was younger, this used to terrify me, but I always wanted to watch it because they were all of Henson's Muppet's. Well, I haven't watched it in over 15 years and it's even more terrifying! What a weird movie!
The Back-up Plan (?/5)
Starring: Jennifer Lopez & Alex O'Loughlin.
(However, the secondary characters are way better in it.)
Its a romantic comedy where J-Lo decides to go with her back-up plan of getting artificially inseminated, because she can't find the right man...until the day she gets knocked up.
Honestly, I can't decide on this movie. I went in deciding I wouldn't like it, and I tried not to like it, but I think there was a lot of funny parts. Please watch it and let me know.
Paul (5/5)
Starring: Simon Pegg & Nick Frost.
Two nerdy British geeks encounter an alien outside area 51 after leaving comic-con.
Honestly, I was slightly worried I was over stupid comedy, but this one brought me back! Don't know if I laughed this hard in a while. A lot of great secondary characters, especially Kristen Wiig and a couple of special cameo appearances that are fitting. If you like anything to do with aliens, you will enjoy all the random connections to other movies as well.
Independence Day (4.5/5)
Starring: Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, & Will Smith.
Aliens decide to try to take over the world...
What they don't realize is, you can't bring an American down on the fourth of July.
I'm sure most people wouldn't say this is a great movie, but I enjoy it. I remember seeing this in theatres; underage might I add! The scene where Big Willy punches the alien and the scene with the scientist against the glass used to scare me. Now it's a fun tradition to watch this movie every Independence Day.
