I hope everyone had a good long weekend! As per usual, my weekend was busy and full!
Have you been following the facebook and twitter updates on good deeds? If not, here's how they've been going:
Day 6 of 365 - Be kind to yourself. I did this the only way I knew how...I bought new underpants! YES!
Day 7 of 365 - Send one of your grandparents a photograph. Mine are all dead, so I took a picture of Joshua and I and sent it to both our Moms, since neither of them had a picture of us together.
Day 8 of 365 - Forgive someone (for a minor resentment that's been bothering you). I'm sure we could all this a little more often. It's hard to think of one and than go to that person and forgive, especially if they aren't really expecting it. I ended up forgiving Joshua for a little incident that happened on my birthday night. He apologized and we both said our "I love you's". It felt good!
Day 9 of 365 - Choose the longer walk home. Well, it just so happens that if I take the longer drive home, I pass by my cousins place. So I packed some movies and food and went for a famjam visit after work.
Day 10 of 365 - Send a friend a beloved book from your shelf. I was pretty excited for this one! I knew the book AND the person....went to grab the book and it wasn't there. Seems though I do this deed often. So, I cheated and went out to buy the book again, just to send it away.
Day 11 of 365 - Treat Yourself. I thought this was hard. Then I realized I treated myself by not really worrying about it. I bought a coffee, I made my favourite sandwich, and I had a low key date night with Joshua and his friend HB.
Day 12 of 365 - Take your neighbour's trash bins in off the curb. Unfortunately, this happened on the holiday monday, so it didn't work out too well. I also live in the country and you don't see your neighbours bins too often. I did my party by picking up some trash at the labour day event in the park.
Day 13 of 365 - Leave your change in the vending machine for the next person.
So I don't usually have change on me, but I did today! I went to the vending machine at work to purchase myself a soda pop and put an extra dollar in the machine for someone else's purchase.
I hope you've been following along, and if not, give some of them a go now!
Take care and be happy!

one good deed a day
So like I said, I started my good deed project. And so far it has been a fairly smooth journey. Im thoroughly enjoying everyone who is also following along with me.
The deeds so far have been as follows:
Day 1 - Smile at a Stranger.
Have you met me? Mission accomplished! I decided to up the ante and smile at everyone in the grocery store and also say good afternoon. For the most part it was well received, though some people just avoided eye contact.
Day 2 - Become an Organ Donor.
Disappointed. I was already an organ donor, but after a discussion with Joshua and an email with the Trillium Gift of Life Network that deals with the transplanting of organs, I learned that because I have slept with a man I am considered to be in the same category as IV drug users and those who are frequently incarcerated....Yeah, I wasnt too happy about that either.
Day 3 - Add Money to an Expired Meter.
Check! Thanks to Joshua going into town for me! Talk about true love!
I told Joshua how much he means to me and I let my family and friends how grateful I am for them. I also am very grateful for the life I have.
Day 5 - Pick Up Some Trash.
This one I try to do on a regular basis as well, but I decided to focus on Skeleton Park by Joshua's neighbourhood and take the time to pick up some trash around there.
So far its been fun and rewarding! I hope the ripple effect is working.

Heeeeeere's Johnny...rather Jason.
I'm Back! Welcome me!
I know that it has been a while and as per usual I have no excuse, but life.
Quick update: still employed with the government, Joshua and I are madly in love, family is well, and though I still have my lows, life if pretty freakin' sweet.
Im excited to be back, and what better day to start than the day before my birthday.
I purchased a new book to talk about.
It's a Journal that I got on sale! Holla! It's called "One Good Deed A Day" by A BUNCH of people. It was basically created by a pile of people who want the word to be a better place. Each page has a deed to do; whether its for a stranger, someone you know, or maybe just taking a well deserved good deed for yourself.
Starting tomorrow, I will open the book to the first page and perform each deed in order. I will write the date that I completed the deed (hopefully daily) and write a reflection on what I did, who I helped, and/or how I felt. I will also be posting daily on my facebook page to get the deed out there and hoping that friends and followers will take charge and bring positivity to the world.
The opening page says, kindness is contagious. So I ask, will you catch what I have?
